If you need inspiration for a research topic, Access World News has several suggested topics broken down into various categories. These can be found directly under the search bar on the main search page.

Clicking on a topic opens a list of potential issues broken down by different categories. 

Shows a list of topics under the "Social Issues" section.

 

Selecting a topic brings up a list of searches. For example, selecting Emojis from the Communication and Information will pull up a search for emoji OR emojis with a word count limiter of More than 100. You are able to change the keywords and limiters as you would like!

You can browse topics that are currently popular on Access World News by clicking the Hot Topics link under Quick Links

Search bar at the top with suggested topics and quick links under it. Under quick links, hot topics is highlighted with a red square

 

Topics include Current Events; Social Issues; Science, Technology, & Health; Sports; Arts & Literature; and People in the News. You can choose a specific month and year to view current topics during that time by using the drop-down at the top of the page.

Clicking a topic takes you to a page that provides a short paragraph of various news topics that month and a suggested search for each topic.
