The VSU Archives and Special Collections offers primary source materials and instruction for any of your class needs.
The Archives supports the University’s commitment to scholarly and creative work, enhances instructional effectiveness, encourages faculty scholarly pursuits, and supports research in selective areas of institutional strength focused on regional need by collecting, preserving, and providing access to records of enduring historical value documenting the history and development of VSU and the surrounding South Georgia region and in support of VSU curriculum.
Visit the Main Circulation desk or 2nd Floor Circulation desk for assistance with checking out and returning library materials, searching for missing materials, finding library materials, placing holds and recalls, and to ask questions. Patrons can pick up GIL-Express, Interlibrary Loans, holds, and Course Reserves at the Main Circulation desk.
From scheduling library instruction sessions to answering questions, Reference Services is here to help. Valdosta State University students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community, can contact Reference Services for assistance in-person, via chat, or by phone.
The Odum Library New Media Center is a service oriented office providing assistance in media content development, media presentations, and provides access to a wide variety of traditional and new media equipment and software.

Research appointments offer focused consultations with a reference librarian.
Several librarians are available to work with students and faculty at various stages of the research process. These can be solo or group sessions, and can be conducted remotely.
Students and faculty are encouraged to schedule consultations throughout the semester.
Faculty: Librarians are happy to meet with you to sort out library technical questions and discuss researching with available library resources.
