I Need Supplies

I need a laptop

If you want to purchase a laptop, try the VSU bookstore.

If you just need to borrow one for a few days, the New Media Center is the place to go. They have laptops for students to check out to do their classwork at home. For more details check out their website or go visit them on the first floor of the library. They are near the back entrance that faces the Fine Arts building.

I need whiteboard markers/erasers

While in the library, you can borrow some from our stock. The circulation desks and reference desk in the library all have expo markers and erasers to borrow. We are only able to buy a certain amount of these supplies each month, so please remember to turn them in after you are done using them. The circulation desks are near each of the entrances and the reference desk is located near the main stairs on the Fine Arts side of the building.

I need staplers/pen/pencil/paperclips

The library has supply stations set up near each service desk. If a stapler is jammed or the station has run out of an item, please let the nearest library employee know so that they can be refilled or repaired. These supplies are also available for sale at the university bookstore in the Student Union if you need them in bulk or we have run out.

I need a calculator

There are graphing and non-graphing calculators at the first-floor circulation desk for checkout. You can only have them for 4 hours, but you are allowed to take them out of the building for tests and classes. If you ever find yourself with no calculator for a day, stop by the desk and check one out.

Textbooks

I need my textbooks

There are two places you could go for textbooks.

Reserves:

These textbooks are kept at the first floor circulation desk and usually check out for an hour to be used only inside the library. These books are placed on reserve by your instructor, so this is only an option with a limited number of classes.

The Bookstore:

The bookstore is located on the first floor of the Student Union. They carry all of the textbooks that your professors have listed as required, and also sell basic office and art supplies. If you have funds in your Flex account then those can be used to purchase supplies and books.
