Adding Pages/Tabs

To add pages or tabs, select the last tab with the plus (+) icon.

  • Select "Regular" as the Page Type and name your page as you want it to appear in the navigation menu. If you want the page to act as a subpage, you can select that in the "Position" drop-down menu as well as what page you would like it to be a subpage for. Do not display a profile box.
  • Draft Mode allows you to work on a page that is in progress without allowing the public to see the page. You can leave this unchecked if the guide is not yet published.
  • Click Save.

Adding Boxes

Adding a Box

To add a box, select "Add a box" where you want your box to go.

Window pop-up for adding a box

  • Name the box and select the type. For an explanation of each type, please see the corresponding tabs in this box.
  • You can select the position of the box now, but you can always rearrange the boxes later as well.
  • A floating box will not contain a box border.

Please note that floating boxes do not display a title.

  • Draft mode can be selected if you wish to hide the box from view. This can be helpful for notes to yourself, or when you aren't sure if you want to keep information on a page but you don't want to delete the box yet.

Deleting a Box

To delete a box, simply select the x icon at the top right of the box you intend to delete. In the new pop-up window, select that you understand that you will not be able to undo deleting a box and click save.

A standard box is a normal box that you can add any content to. This is the most common type of box and will be used the most in your guide.

The above image is taken from the LearningExpress Library Guide. All of the boxes featured on this page are standard boxes.

A tabbed box contains tabs at the top allowing you to split your box into sections. Each "tab" of your guide can contain different information. The box you are currently viewing is an example of a tabbed box.

Adding Tabs to a Tabbed Box

Select the gear icon at the top of the tabbed box

You can add as many tabs to the box as you would like by typing the name of a tab in the blank area and selecting "Create".

  • If you want to edit or change the name of the tab, you can do so at any time, but make sure you select the "Update" button beside the name of the tab you changed.
  • You can also move the order of the tabs in this area. Simply drag and drop the name of the tab to the intended location. After you have your tabs in the order that you would like them in, select "Save Positions" at the bottom of the box.

A gallery box is a fun way to display images, books, or databases in your guide (you can also link these images to outside websites). You have a wide range of customization choices within your gallery box so you can make it fit your guide's needs

This is an example of a gallery box used to display books found in the On Display at Odum 2021 guide. Clicking the arrow icons to the left and right of the box will tab through the other books in the box.

Adding Slides to a Gallery Box

To add a slide in the gallery box, select the gear icon at the top of the box.

Empty box that has a gear icon located at the top right of the box circled.

Select the Add New Slide button and select what you want to add. I would suggest adding only images in a Gallery box.

Upload your image using the directions for the Image Manager found in the Adding Content: Photos section of this guide.

Screenshot of pop up window for the Gallery Box image options including areas to type titles, alt test, link urls, and a discription.

Add a title for the slide and Alt Text for the image (see the Review section of this guide for more information). If you want the image to lead to a different webpage, enter the URL in the "Link URL" section of this window. The text box at the bottom of the box allows you to add captions or other details about the slide under the image.

When finished adding your slides, make sure that you select the "Save and Return to Guide" on the Edit Gallery Box page.

You can add or remove the number of slides shown at once by using the settings on the right of the Edit Gallery Box page. Play around with these until you get the slideshow how you like. Please keep "Automatically play" turned off. Having the slides automatically play can be an accessibility issue.

A Profile Box displays the user's profile image and contact information.
