Turnitin is a plaigarism detection and prevention software. Students submit their work and it is compared to a very large database of sources. The software detects the unoriginal content and generates an originality report.
Include clear directions and expectations for assignments. Tell students which citation style you expect them to use. Explain the consequences for failing to cite properly, academic dishonesty, and plagiarism.
