Education Research for Graduate Students: Search Results

Search Result Strategies

Browse the Titles

Journal articles have very descriptive titles. You can quickly browse your results by skimming the titles of the articles.

Look at the Subjects

Does the record have subjects listed? These can help:

  • Find new keywords to search.
    • Clicking on hyperlinked subjects starts a new search with that specific term.

  • Determine if your current search strategy is returning relevant results.

  • Another way to determine if a result might be worth investigating further.

Refine?

Ask yourself do your search results seem relevant or that they might be potentially helpful. Experimenting with keywords and search strategies is a part of research.
