These prints are part of the Tatler-Burgess Collection, which also includes antique maps, illuminated manuscripts, biblical leaves, and books from the 15th through 20th century.
The botanical prints were created by well-known illustrators of the 18th & 19th century (James Sowerby, Elizabeth Blackwell, William Curtis, John Curtis, and Walter Hood Finch) using lithographic printmaking and copperplate engraving.
