The University Library's LibGuides provides a low-cost, scalable platform on which students and faculty of variable technical skills can host their content. Currently, Public History students who take courses on campus work in groups to create physical displays for the library using materials from Archives and Special Collections. HIST 6215/MLIS 7998, Introduction to Public History, is a fully online course taught by Dr. Sarah Fitzgerald that takes place during summer semester. To provide online students with the same practical experience that is provided to students taking the Public History course in person, LibGuides is able to serve as a virtual display for digitized special collections and archival materials.
