"The embedded librarian is such an asset to students. I have enjoyed having an embedded librarian in my courses for over three years. Each librarian has been willing to add a library module to the course materials and join the class on a virtual call with my students at the beginning of the semester to demonstrate accessing library resources. This allows the students to meet our embedded librarian and learn how the library supports students in various modes. By connecting a librarian to the students, they feel comfortable with reaching out for assistance as they begin their doctoral journeys. The embedded librarians are awesome, and I highly recommend inviting a librarian to join your course."

"Tera is the embedded librarian for all my online WGST courses: Masculinity Studies, Queer Theory, and Introduction to Gender & Sexuality Studies. Each course's main assignment involves using library resources. Over the last two years, Tera has been embedded in each class, given distinct library instruction sessions focused on different skills, and created and updated full and helpful course guides. I frequently refer my students to the course guide and Tera for help over the course of each semester. Every semester I hear from students that they found the library instruction session incredibly helpful. This semester [Spring 2025], one student mentioned in their reflection that their only previous experience with the library felt like being "thrown to the wolves". They felt much more prepared for both the assignment in my class and future assignments after attending the library instruction session. Another student mentioned they found the session helpful because they did not know the library provided access to more than books and tutoring services."

"Our embedded librarians were incredibly helpful and made a significant positive impact on the CIED 9400 students. They provided insightful online presentations and offered excellent one-on-one support, particularly during the literature review component of our course. As a result, students not only felt more confident in approaching their research tasks, but I also observed a noticeable improvement in the quality of their work. The overall student feedback was very positive, with many specifically mentioning how approachable and helpful the librarian was, which encouraged them to seek assistance. The service is already very strong and effectively meets our needs. I was very pleased with the overall service and have no specific suggestions now other than encouraging you to continue the excellent work!"

"Working with Professor Emily Rogers has been a tremendously rewarding experience! Our students and I have been lucky enough to have Professor Rogers serve as an embedded librarian in our Model United Nations courses since spring 2024. Professor Rogers has enhanced this experiential learning program and course work in five distinct ways. First, she creates individualized research guides for our specific country and committee assignments (that change every semester) that aid students in their research of the topics before the committee while at conference. Second, and in conjunction with the former, Professor Rogers builds a dedicated library website for our students to use throughout the semester while researching and writing their Position Papers and in developing in-class presentations on their selected topics. Professor Rogers has also been willing to come into our classroom and advise students on these and other relevant resources, and she dedicates a significant portion of her time to one-on-one or group meetings with students in an in-person or virtual format (and has even kept these virtual appointments when the university was closing early for inclement weather). Finally, since having utilized the embedded librarian program, our students have earned 5 highly coveted Position Paper awards across three national and international conferences. For context, Position Papers are two-page technical writing documents that summarize a Member States' position on the two topics before the committee. Position Paper awards are typically given to the top 2-4 delegations in attendance per committee. We typically serve on 6-10 committees while at conference. This is a unique honor as some committees may have a total of 140 delegations with 280 students in attendance. More over, it's important to note that our students have continuously praised Professor Rogers' performance as our embedded librarian throughout the past year and a half. They and I are incredibly grateful for her willingness to serve in this capacity. Her commitment to this post has enhanced student success countless ways."
