The website we refer to most when looking for correct citation formats is the OWL at Purdue. It covers common citation styles such as APA, MLA, and Chicago. The OWL at Purdue is created by a reputable institution, however, remember that the ultimate authority on any citation style is the current edition of the style manual itself.
You can find many style manuals available in Odum Library. Each tab in the guide includes links to the style guide and online resources that provide examples of citations.
Although reference librarians can help you find the right citation format for something (i.e. how to cite an online newspaper article in MLA style), you'll want to visit VSU's Academic Support Center if you need someone to coach you while you actually put your citations into their correct format or proofread your paper. It's best to schedule an appointment with a tutor, but they take drop-ins when there's a tutor available, too.
