Under the African American History link, there are 15 collections that include sheet music, pamphlets, audio narratives by freed slaves, material on Southern Black churches, first-person narratives about life in the South from 1860-1920, and baseball and Jackie Robinson.

This site is a collaborative effort between various agencies, such as the Libray of Congress and National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Civil Rights Digital Library covers the history of this movement from 1954-1970 through the use of the three following features: a digital archive of 30 hours of historical news film drawn from two television stations and television archives held by the University of GA, a virtual library of material on the movement drawn from the collections of 75 libraries and organizations around the U.S., and instructional materials to aid teachers in using this material.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. It was established by Act of Congress in 2003, following decades of efforts to promote and highlight the contributions of African Americans. To date, the Museum has collected more than 36,000 artifacts and nearly 100,000 individuals have become members. The Museum opened to the public on September 24, 2016, as the 19th and newest museum of the Smithsonian Institution.

This database was the result of the African Origins Project, a scholarly and public collaboration to trace the origins of Africans transported in the African slave trade. The database provides information on nearly 35,000 voyages which took 10 million Africans to the Americas from the 16th-19th centuries. The Voyages section has information on each ship's name, captain, and nationality and some information on the voyages, while the African Names section has name, age, gender, origin, and place of embarkation on 67,000 African men, women and children.

Afroculinaria is a food blog authored by Michael W. Twitty, (Twitter: @Koshersoul /Instagram:@thecookinggene/Michael W. Twitty on Facebook), a food writer, independent scholar, culinary historian , and historical interpreter personally charged with preparing, preserving and promoting African American foodways and its parent traditions in Africa and her Diaspora and its legacy in the food culture of the American South.
